Nowadays the trend of Type-C charging has increased rapidly. In such a situation, many people buy chargers from any shop and start charging their phones or using others' chargers. But do you know that doing this can be dangerous? The market is full of fake chargers, which can cause serious incidents like phone blasts. In many cases before, the phone has exploded during charging, which has even led to death. To avoid such accidents, you must use only original and BIS-certified chargers.

Now the question arises that how to identify original and fake chargers? For this, the government has launched the BIS Care App, with the help of which anyone can easily check the quality of the charger.

What is the BIS Care App?

BIS Care App has been developed by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). This organization works under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India. The job of BIS is to ensure the quality and certification of products sold in the country.

Where to download the BIS Care App?

If you want to check the quality of your charger, you can download the BIS Care App on your mobile. This app is available on both Android and iOS platforms.

How to identify real and fake chargers?

1. First of all download BIS Care App from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

2. Open the app and tap on the "Verify R no. under CRS" option.

3. Now you will get two options - Enter the product registration number, scan the QR code

4. By choosing one of these options, you can get information about the charger's branding, model, manufacturing country, and Indian Standard number.

5. If your charger does not appear registered in the app, then understand that it is fake.

How to check the registration number?

Whenever you buy a new charger, the product number and QR code are recorded on it. If these details are not on the charger, it may be potentially fake. Apart from this, this number is also given on the bill or receipt at the time of purchase. It is usually written as R-XXXXXXX (a unique code starting with R).

There is a risk of phone battery overheating, short circuit and blast due to fake charger. If you check the authenticity of the charger with the help of BIS Care App, then you can avoid such incidents. Whenever you buy a new charger, scan its registration number or QR code and keep yourself safe.
