The Government of India has a scheme which empowers women financially and also gives them a chance to become business women. The name of this scheme is Lakhpati Didi Yojana. Under this scheme, the government gives financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to women.

Under this scheme, eligible women are given a loan of up to Rs 5 lakh by the government which is interest free, under this scheme women can set up their own self-employment. The government is running this scheme like a campaign so that the women of the country can be empowered.

To take advantage of this scheme, women will first have to join the self-help group, after which the government provides them skill development training so that they can understand business.

After completing the training, women can invest in their poultry farm, LED bulb manufacturing, farming, mushroom farming and many foreign fruits. With this loan, women can start their own business and earn money.

To apply for Lakhpati Didi Yojana, women will have to make a business plan under a self-help group. As soon as their business plan is ready, that plan will be sent to the government by the self-help group. Government officials will review the application.

After that, if the application is accepted, the benefit of the scheme will be given and a loan of up to Rs 5 lakh will also be given under it. Eligible women will be those whose family's annual income is Rs 3 lakh or less. Women with an annual income of more than Rs 3 lakh will not be eligible for benefits in the scheme.
