Your identity on YouTube is made up of two things, the channel name which reflects your videos, profile and brand. At the same time, the handle (like @yourname), which appears in shorts, tags and channel URL. The good thing is that both can be changed and it is not necessary to be an expert in technology for this.

How to change YouTube channel name from mobile?

Open the YouTube app on your mobile

Tap on the profile photo at the top right

Select View Channel

Tap on Edit near your name

Write the new channel name

Tap on Save

How to change channel name from computer?

Open YouTube in any web browser

Click on the profile icon at the top right and then open YouTube Studio

Go to Customisation > Basic Info section

Enter the new channel name there

Click on Publish

Note: You can change the channel name a maximum of twice every 14 days. Changing the name may remove the verification badge of your channel and the new name should be available.

How to change YouTube handle from mobile?

Open the YouTube app

Tap your profile photo

Go to View Channel

Tap Edit

Edit the existing handle in the Handle section

Type a new handle (YouTube will suggest one if it's already used)

Tap Save

How to change YouTube handle from a computer?

Open YouTube Studio on a browser and sign in

Go to Customisation > Basic Info

Enter the new name in the Handle section

Click Publish

Note: You can change the handle twice in 14 days, and this is also subject to availability.
