Delhi Government Workers Relief: Due to the suspension of work in Delhi because of pollution, the government is assisting with Rs 10,000. However, this assistance will only be given to verified workers.

The pollution level in Delhi has reached an extremely dangerous level. The Air Quality Index remains at record levels, making it difficult for ordinary people to go outside. The situation is particularly serious for children, the elderly, and people suffering from respiratory illnesses.

Due to the rising levels of pollution, the government has had to take strict measures. To control the increasing pollution, the Delhi government has banned construction activities. While this decision is expected to improve air quality,

it has directly impacted the livelihoods of daily wage workers. The suspension of work has created a financial crisis for thousands of workers. Considering the plight of the workers, the Delhi government has announced relief.

The government has stated that financial assistance will be provided to workers during the period when construction work is suspended. Under this scheme, Rs 10,000 will be sent to the bank accounts of eligible workers to provide them with some support during this difficult time. However, not all workers will benefit from this scheme.

The government has clarified that this assistance will only be given to verified workers. That is, only those workers whose records are properly registered and verified with the government will be eligible for this assistance. Unverified workers will be excluded from this scheme.

The government has stated that online registration is mandatory for this assistance. Workers working in the construction sector in Delhi can register on the designated portal. They will receive the benefits of the scheme only after the registration and verification process is complete.

According to Minister Kapil Mishra, currently, there are approximately 10,000 verified workers in Delhi. These are the workers who will receive the Rs 10,000 assistance. This amount has been determined as compensation for 16 days, as construction activities have been banned for this period under GRAP 3.  All other unverified workers will not be eligible for this benefit.
