An important update has emerged for millions of women associated with the Maharashtra government's Chief Minister's Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. The monthly assistance of Rs. 1500 under the scheme may be stopped for some women if they do not correct a crucial mistake in time. However, the good news is that the state government has decided to give these women another chance. So, let's tell you which women in Maharashtra will not receive the money from the Ladki Bahin Yojana and which mistakes they should correct today.

E-KYC error becomes the cause of the problem

E-KYC was made mandatory for women receiving benefits under the Ladki Bahin Yojana. The government had set a deadline of December 31, 2025, for this. However, during this process, many women made mistakes while filling out the form. Due to a lack of technical knowledge and misunderstanding of the question, they selected the wrong option, which made their record suspect and led to the suspension of their scheme payments.

One question stopped the Rs. 1500 installment

In the e-KYC form, a question was asked in Marathi: "तुमच्या घरातले कोणी सरकारी नोकरीत नाही ना?" (Is there no one in your family who is in government service?). A large number of women mistakenly clicked "yes" to this question. The system then recorded it as if there was a government employee in their family. According to the rules, government employees or their family members are not eligible for this scheme, so the scheme's payment was automatically stopped in such cases. An investigation by the Women and Child Development Department revealed that approximately 24 lakh women had selected this wrong option. The number of government and semi-government employees in the entire state is less than this. When such a large number of women's installments were suddenly stopped, complaints started pouring in, and the matter came to the government's attention. Government provides opportunity for correction

Following complaints from women, Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare clarified that eligible women would not be excluded from the scheme. The government has decided that women whose e-KYC is pending due to incorrect information will undergo physical verification to rectify the records. Anganwadi workers across the state have been assigned this responsibility. They will visit the respective women at the local level, verify their details, and correct any erroneous entries.
