Like every year, the railways have started preparations in advance to ensure that there is no compromise on safety. Due to fog, not only are trains delayed, but it also become necessary to suspend operations on several routes.

In this regard, plans are being made to cancel several trains between January and March. Many pairs of trains passing through Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, and those originating from Delhi, may be affected by this decision. If you are also traveling by train in the coming days, check if your train is among those cancelled.

Reason for the Railway's Decision

The railways have taken this decision to ensure passenger safety and manage operations. Dense fog in winter disrupts the timing of long-distance trains, increasing the risk of accidents and major disruptions. Considering this possibility, the railways have prepared a plan in advance. The impact of fog is most severe between December and February.

Therefore, several trains are being temporarily cancelled during this period. East Central Railway has decided to suspend the operation of 24 pairs of trains during this time. This process will not be implemented all at once, but in a phased manner. Passengers are advised to check the train status before traveling and make alternative arrangements if necessary.
