The government runs various schemes to address the needs of the people in the country. One of these is the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, which is designed to provide financial assistance, training, and modern equipment to traditional artisans and those involved in handicrafts.

Not everyone benefits from the Government of India's PM Vishwakarma Yojana. Certain conditions and eligibility criteria have been established. The scheme aims to strengthen those who have been engaged in a particular skill for generations and earn their livelihood through it.

These include woodworkers, goldsmiths, ironsmiths, masons, pottery workers, shoemakers, barbers, and many other traditional occupations.

If a person is not engaged in these traditional occupations, they cannot benefit from this scheme. Those who are in government jobs or work in a government department, public sector undertaking, or local body are also not eligible.

The scheme is exclusively for those who earn their livelihood through self-employment and whose income depends primarily on their skills. If a person is already benefiting from any other central or state government skill development scheme, they cannot join the PM Vishwakarma Yojana.

After joining the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, training is provided, which includes a daily stipend of ₹500. Furthermore, after completing the training, ₹15,000 is also provided to purchase a tool kit and other necessary equipment.

Not only this, but a loan facility is also provided under this scheme. You receive a loan of ₹1 lakh for the first 18 months, and after repaying this loan, you receive a loan of up to ₹2 lakh for a further 30 months.
