These LPG-related rules change today, July 1; if you have a cylinder at home, here is some useful information for you..
Changes invariably occur on the first of every month. With only one day left in June, several changes are set to take effect in July. Specifically, from July 1st, there will be changes to various rules regarding LPG. If you have a gas cylinder at home, you should immediately familiarize yourself with these updates to ensure the continuity of your subsidy and safety. Here is a look at the new LPG regulations coming into effect on July 1st.
**Key LPG Rules and Changes**
**Mandatory e-KYC:** The government and gas companies—such as Indane, Bharat Gas, and HP—have made e-KYC mandatory for cylinder delivery and subsidy eligibility. If you have not completed this process yet, your cylinder delivery could be halted.
**"One Home, One Gas Connection" Rule:** Households that have access to Piped Natural Gas (PNG) facilities are required to surrender their domestic LPG cylinders. Maintaining both types of gas connections at the same address is considered illegal.
**OTP for Cylinder Booking and Delivery:** To curb black-marketing, cylinder delivery will no longer take place without an OTP. You must provide the OTP—sent to your registered mobile number at the time of booking—to the delivery person upon arrival.
**Restrictions on Subsidy and Booking:** A new rule has been implemented preventing consumers from booking a second gas cylinder within 25 days.
**Connection Restoration Facility:** If you relocate to an area where PNG facilities are unavailable, the government allows you to reactivate your previously surrendered LPG connection.
