1. Biometric Aadhaar Authentication Mandatory for Subsidy
If you purchase a subsidized domestic LPG cylinder, completing biometric Aadhaar authentication has now been made mandatory. Customers who have not yet completed this process must do so before booking their next subsidized refill. You can complete this requirement through your gas agency, the delivery person, or even from the comfort of your home using the oil company's mobile app.

2. Could Cylinder Prices Rise?
Oil companies announce new LPG cylinder rates on the first of every month. These prices depend on several factors, such as fuel costs in the international market, gas import expenses, and government taxes. Currently, a commercial cylinder costs ₹2,747 and a domestic cylinder costs ₹942 in Delhi. It remains to be seen what new rates the oil companies announce tomorrow.

3. Major Change in Refill Booking
The government has reduced the minimum time interval for booking the next domestic LPG cylinder refill from 45 days to 25 days. This new rule will apply to all domestic customers across the country. Previously, the 25-day rule applied only to residents of urban areas, but now it will be applicable everywhere—in cities, villages, and towns alike.

4. Strict measures for PNG connections
The government is continuously formulating regulations to promote PNG connections. Consequently, customers residing in areas where PNG facilities are available will be required to switch from LPG to PNG. Your LPG connection could be discontinued 90 days after receiving a notice from the government. Therefore, if PNG service is available in your area, you should obtain a connection immediately.

5. OTP mandatory at the time of delivery
Merely showing the booking receipt will no longer suffice for cylinder delivery. New rules have been implemented to make the delivery process more secure. Following the booking, an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number, which you must provide to the delivery agent upon receiving the cylinder. The objective of this system is to curb fraudulent bookings and unauthorized deliveries.
