How much is the salary now?
Currently, employees on level-1 posts like peon get a basic salary of Rs 18,000 per month. With this, adding dearness allowance (DA), HRA and other allowances, the total in-hand salary is around Rs 24,000 to Rs 26,000.

According to media reports and experts, if the central government implements the 2.86 fitment factor, then there can be a huge increase in the basic salary of the employees. Employees like peons will get direct benefit from this.
What can be the new salary?
If 2.86 fitment factor is considered as the basis, then the new salary of the peon can be as follows-
Old basic salary: Rs 18,000
New possible basic salary: 18,000 × 2.86 = Rs 51,480
That is, the monthly salary of the peon can increase by about Rs 33,000. If DA, HRA and other allowances are added, then the total in-hand salary can reach between 55,000 to 60,000.
Which employees will get direct benefit?
All central employees will benefit from the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission, but the most relief will be given to level-1 and level-2 employees, whose salary is currently very low. This will be a relief news for employees working on posts like peon, sweeper, gardener, guard.
