Free LPG Gas e-KYC: Completing Aadhaar e-KYC by September 30 is mandatory to ensure uninterrupted cylinder delivery and the continued transfer of subsidies to your bank account. Reports indicate that some individuals are soliciting money from LPG consumers for this e-KYC process. However, oil companies and the government have clearly stated that the process of updating gas e-KYC is entirely free of charge.
Consequently, if any gas agency, employee, or delivery person demands a fee for this service, it is illegal. In such instances, customers should immediately lodge a complaint with the company's customer care department.
Documents required for LPG e-KYC
The Aadhaar card is the most essential document for identity and biometric or face verification. You also need the gas passbook containing your consumer number and distributor details, as well as the registered mobile number linked to your LPG connection for OTP verification.
How to complete e-KYC from home using your mobile
First, download your gas company's official app on your mobile: 'IndianOil One App' for Indane, 'Hello BPCL App' for Bharat Gas, or 'HP Pay App' for HP. Also, download UIDAI's 'Aadhaar FaceRD App' from the Google Play Store. Log in to the gas app using your registered mobile number and select the e-KYC option. Authenticate your face using the app; once verification is complete, your e-KYC will be submitted online.
How to complete e-KYC by visiting the gas agency
If you are unable to complete the process online, visit your nearest gas distributor with your Aadhaar card and a copy of your LPG passbook. The representative there will complete the e-KYC immediately by performing biometric authentication using a biometric machine (fingerprint scanner).
You can also update your e-KYC when the delivery person arrives to deliver your LPG cylinder by having your fingerprints scanned via the biometric device they carry.
