YouTube's most popular creator, MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson), recently expressed serious concern about the growing power of Artificial Intelligence (AI). He says that as AI tools begin to create videos of equal or even better quality than humans, this situation could prove to be a danger signal for the future of YouTube creators.

MrBeast wrote on the social media platform X that if it becomes difficult to distinguish between AI videos and real videos in the future, it could be devastating for both content creators and their earnings.

MrBeast's concerns about AI surfaced after OpenAI launched its new advanced video generation tool, Sora 2, which is now available on iOS. This tool allows any user to create highly realistic videos simply by typing text.

Meta, meanwhile, launched a new AI-only feed on its platform, showcasing only AI-generated posts and videos. Experts say such technologies could profoundly impact YouTube content, copyright, and the creative profession.

Interestingly, MrBeast himself has previously used AI tools. He launched an AI thumbnail generator on his platform, ViewStats, that allowed YouTube creators to create attractive thumbnails in seconds. However, this feature was met with criticism, as many believed it would impact the jobs of real graphic designers.

Following growing controversy and user feedback, MrBeast decided to discontinue the tool. In a post in June, he said, "Thank you for all your feedback. We've removed the ViewStats AI thumbnail tool, and now creators will be able to contact real thumbnail artists directly." This move proves that MrBeast doesn't deny the power of AI, but he also believes that machines can't replace human creativity and real artists.

Currently, AI video generation is evolving so rapidly that in the coming years, it will be difficult to determine which videos are real and which are machine-generated. MrBeast's warning is indeed a sign that if this technology isn't kept under control, both the existence and earnings of YouTube creators could be at risk.
