The applicant must be a regular student at a government higher secondary school under the MP School Education Department or the Tribal Affairs Department. Students must have secured at least 70% marks in the Class 12 board examination; previously, this eligibility threshold was 60%. The student must have secured the first position in the Class 12 examination within their respective government school. The examination must have been passed in the very first attempt; students appearing for supplementary or re-examinations are not eligible. This scheme is not limited to girls alone; benefits are being extended equally to both meritorious sons and daughters.

If you have topped your school in the Class 12 examination, you can check your name in the eligibility list by following the steps below:

First, visit the Education Department's official Vimarsh portal at vimarsh.mp.gov.in. Click on the link for the "Chief Minister's Scooty Scheme for Boys and Girls – Online Registration Report" or "Eligibility List" provided on the homepage. Select your district and then your school from the dropdown menus. Upon clicking the 'Submit' button, the complete merit list of selected students from your school will appear on the screen. If you are your school's topper but your name does not appear on the portal's list, do not panic. Wait for the list to be updated or immediately contact your school principal to verify your details.

**Financial assistance for e-scooters and petrol scooters**
Students selected for this scheme have the freedom to choose their vehicle, with the financial assistance amount being transferred directly to their bank accounts. For those opting for an electric scooter, the government covers the cost of the vehicle (up to ₹1.20 lakh), as well as the initial expenses for RTO registration and the first year's insurance. Meanwhile, for students choosing a petrol-powered scooter, an amount of ₹90,000 is being transferred directly to their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts via DBT.
