What is the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY)?
Under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), the government provides money to first-time mothers. The Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) is a central government scheme that provides financial assistance of ₹5,000 to first-time mothers. This amount is disbursed in three instalments. If a woman gives birth to a second child, the government provides an additional ₹6,000. This brings the total benefit to ₹11,000. The government's goal is to provide pregnant women with timely vaccinations, health checkups, and essential services during delivery. This improves the health of both mother and child and reduces the financial burden on the family.
Who can avail of this scheme?
Only women who are at least 19 years old can benefit from the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. Women facing work disruptions or salary reductions due to pregnancy, or those applying for a child with a previous child, can also benefit from this scheme. In addition, SC and ST women, women with disabilities, BPL cardholders, Ayushman Bharat Yojana beneficiaries, e-Shram card holders, Kisan Samman Nidhi beneficiaries, and MNREGA job card holders are also considered eligible for this scheme. However, women with regular jobs in the central or state government are not eligible for this benefit.

Enter your name, address, and other details.
Follow this process and fill out the scheme form.
Upload the required documents after logging in.
Applying for the scheme must be done within 270 days of the child's birth.
In addition to applying online, women can also submit the form by visiting an Anganwadi center or the nearest health center.
