The Central Government's 'Stand-Up India Scheme' is an ambitious initiative aimed at empowering women and fostering self-reliance among individuals belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). The primary objective of this scheme is to promote entrepreneurship at the grassroots level and facilitate easy access to loans for starting new businesses.

If you are looking to launch a new enterprise—whether in manufacturing, services, or trading—the Stand-Up India Scheme could be an excellent opportunity for you. Details regarding the scheme's benefits, eligibility criteria, and the online application process are provided below.

**Key Benefits of the Stand-Up India Scheme**

Under the Stand-Up India Scheme, eligible applicants are provided with a composite loan ranging from ₹10 lakh to ₹1 crore. A RuPay debit card is issued to the beneficiary to facilitate working capital withdrawals and streamline daily business transactions. The Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) portal offers comprehensive guidance on training, skill development, mentoring, project report preparation, application filing, workspace support, and availing benefits from government subsidy schemes.

**Eligibility Criteria for the Stand-Up India Scheme**

*   The loan is granted exclusively for new business ventures in the manufacturing, services, agriculture-allied activities, or trading sectors.
*   Male applicants must belong to either the Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.
*   Female applicants from all categories—General, OBC, SC, and ST—are eligible.
*   Applicants must be at least 18 years of age; individuals under 18 cannot apply.
*   In the case of a partnership or a private limited company, at least 51% of the shareholding must be held by an SC, ST, or woman entrepreneur.
*   The applicant must not be a defaulter with any bank or financial institution.

**Documents Required for the Loan**

*   Proof of Identity: Applicants must possess documents such as a Voter ID card, passport, driving license, PAN card, etc. Proof of Residence and Business Address: A recent electricity/telephone bill, property tax receipt, or rent agreement is required.

Category Certificate: An SC/ST category certificate is mandatory for all male applicants.
Company Documents: MoA, AoA, partnership deed, or Certificate of Incorporation from the ROC, clearly indicating a shareholding of more than 51%.
Financial Documents: A statement of assets and liabilities of promoters or guarantors, the latest income tax return, and a projected balance sheet for the next two years are required.
