Government-owned regional airline Alliance Air has brought major relief to travelers. Under its "Fare Se Leisure" scheme, which began on October 13th, airfares on select routes will remain fixed. The special thing is that whether you book a ticket months in advance or on the day of the flight, the fare will remain the same.

End of Fare Tensions, Now Booking Without Worries
In India, air ticket prices typically fluctuate daily. As the travel date approaches, fares also increase. This often forces travelers to purchase expensive tickets at the last minute. This new scheme by Alliance Air has been introduced to relieve travelers of the stress of fare fluctuations.

Now, even if you book a ticket on the last day, the fare will remain the same as on the first day. This is expected to provide significant relief to the middle class and people in small towns.

Implemented as a Pilot Project
This scheme has been implemented as a pilot project. This means it will only be applicable to select routes for now, and its validity is limited to December 31, 2025. During this period, the airline will assess the success of the scheme and passenger response. If successful, it may be extended to more routes in the future.

Government's Objective: Making Air Travel Common
Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu, while launching the scheme, stated that the initiative aims to make air travel accessible and affordable for everyone. He explained that Alliance Air is furthering Prime Minister Modi's "Udaan" mission, which connects even smaller cities to the air network.

He also stated that the government is making air travel affordable not only by fares but also by providing food and beverages at airports. The launch of Udaan Yatri Cafés, which offer tea for ₹10, coffee for ₹20, and snacks for ₹20, is making air travel more respectable and affordable.

Alliance Air: Flying to Small Cities
Alliance Air is one of the airlines that connects smaller cities with air services. According to recent DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) data, the airline carried approximately 37,000 passengers in August 2025, representing 0.3% of total domestic passenger traffic. However, its services need improvement. For example, in August, the airline's on-time performance (OTP) was only 55%, and only 8 of its 20 aircraft were operating.
