Inauguration on February 22nd

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the corridor on February 22nd. With this, the entire Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor, from Sarai Kale Khan to Modipuram, will be opened to the public. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation, which developed the project, has also completed a successful trial run up to Begumpul.

The train ran at a maximum speed of 160 kilometers per hour and covered the distance in approximately 39 minutes. The total length of the corridor is approximately 80 kilometers, which can be covered in 55 minutes. After the foundation stone was laid in 2019, the project is now fully ready and is bringing new speed to passengers.

Direct Connection Now Available

Approximately 55 kilometers of the Delhi-Meerut Namo Corridor is already operational. Trains are already running from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South. Now, the approximately five-kilometer section from Sarai Kale Khan to New Ashok Nagar and the approximately 21-kilometer section between Meerut South and Modipuram are also ready for operation. This will connect the entire line.

Direct travel from Sarai Kale Khan to Begumpul will be possible. Significantly, it will now take Meerut residents much less time to travel to Delhi than before. Daily commuters will save hours each day.

The fare determination process is said to be in its final stages. It is believed that fares will be determined based on distance and amenities.
