PM Modi: An exhibition of gifts received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been organized at the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi. These include paintings by the Prime Minister, cultural heritage, and memorabilia from the sports world. These gifts are on display through September 16, 2025.
Over 1,300 Gifts to be Auctioned
Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat informed that over 1,300 items will be included in this 7th edition of the e-auction. These include paintings, sculptures, artifacts, statues of gods and goddesses, and sports-related items.
A Glimpse of Cultural Diversity
India's cultural diversity is clearly visible in this collection. Special gifts include embroidered Pashmina shawls from Jammu and Kashmir, the Tanjore (Thanjavur) painting "Ram Darbar" from Tamil Nadu, a metal statue of Nataraja, the "Tree of Life" in Rogan art from Gujarat, and handwoven shawls from Nagaland.
A special attraction of this auction will be sports memorabilia presented to the Prime Minister by Indian para-athletes at the 2024 Paris Paralympics. These items are considered a symbol of Indian sportsmanship, struggle, and excellence.
Online Bidding
The auction of all these items will begin on September 17th on the official portal www.pmmementos.gov.in. Interested individuals can bid online after viewing the exhibition. The entire proceeds from the e-auction will be donated to the government's ambitious "Namami Gange" project, which is being implemented to conserve the Ganga River and rejuvenate its ecosystem.
More than ₹50 crore has been raised so far.
The first auction of the Prime Minister's gifts took place in January 2019. Since then, thousands of gifts have been auctioned, raising over ₹50 crore for the Namami Gange cause.
