Telegram banned in connection with the NEET exam; medical students' leave cancelled; IAF and paramilitary forces deployed for security..
The government is leaving no stone unturned regarding the NEET re-examination; consequently, Telegram was banned, and now, holidays for medical students have been cancelled. Acting on the Ministry of Education's directives, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a letter to medical colleges across the country, ordering them not to grant leave on the 20th and 21st. The NMC's letter notes that instances of medical students being involved in paper leaks or cheating had come to light, which is why they will not be granted leave for these two days.
The NMC letter specifies that leave should be granted to medical students only under exceptional circumstances. It also instructs medical college administrations to sensitize students about the importance of maintaining the integrity of the NEET examination.
It is worth noting that earlier decisions included banning Telegram for the NEET exam, enlisting the Indian Air Force (IAF) to transport the question papers, and deploying paramilitary forces and police to ensure the security of exam centers and question papers. The Education Minister and the Cabinet Secretary are closely monitoring the entire situation regarding NEET.
**1.6 Million Students Downloaded Admit Cards**
Following complaints regarding the download process, the National Testing Agency (NTA) removed the mandatory requirement to enter bank details for downloading NEET admit cards on Thursday. Students can now download their admit cards without providing bank account details. Many students had reported technical difficulties while entering bank account information for refunds. The NTA had released the admit cards on June 14, and so far, approximately 1.6 million candidates have successfully downloaded them.
