Many times, when the laptop does not turn off, people keep pressing the power button repeatedly in anger. Due to this, many times the keyboard of the laptop gets adversely affected. Turn off the fast startup system
If a fast startup system is on in the laptop then sometimes it creates problems in shutting down the laptop. For the laptop to shut down properly, this system will have to be shut down.
First of all, open the Control Panel, and click on Power options.  
Click on what the power button does.

Then uncheck the box of Fast Startup.

Pending update
It has been seen many times that an update is pending on the laptop, in such a situation the laptop does not shut down properly. If there are any updates then check them. For this, go to Settings and check Windows Update.

Problem when the app does not close

If the laptop is not shutting down properly then there may be a hardware problem. In such a situation, turn off the laptop only after removing the USB drive and printer.

Contact manufacturer
If you are having trouble shutting down the laptop, it may be because the BIOS is outdated. In such a situation, contact the laptop manufacturer and fix this problem.

Error in a file
If you are facing a problem in shutting down the laptop then some files may have crashed. Or there may be some error in some files. In such a situation, scan the laptop through the system file checker and fix the problem.
