Access to the contact list
When you download an app on Play Store on your smartphone, many times you knowingly or unknowingly give access to the contact list.

You will find out in a jiffy.
You can find out in a jiffy which app has an eye on your contact list. Android users go to Settings.

Tap on Apps and notifications.
Tap on Apps and notifications. Tap on See all apps or Application Manager.

Go to App Permission
Find and tap App permissions. In some phones, it may be under Advanced.

The full list will be visible.
Here you will see a list of all the apps that have been given permission to access your contacts. You can turn the permission on or off by turning the toggle switch next to each app on or off.

iPhone users can check this
Open the iPhone user Settings app. Scroll down and tap on Privacy. Tap on Contacts.
