Tech Tips: Is someone else reading your WhatsApp messages? Remove access like this
In some cases, you may not have read a WhatsApp text yet it is labeled 'Read', which indicates that your WhatsApp account may have been accessed by another device. In this regard, WhatsApp already has a feature that allows users to view the devices linked to their WhatsApp account.
Linked Devices
To search for linked devices, navigate to the 'Linked Devices' option by clicking on the three dots in the top right corner. After navigating to the Linked Devices option, it will display the list of devices linked to your WhatsApp account.
Remote Access
If you find an unauthorized device accessing then you should remove the access of that particular device so that it cannot receive messages from your WhatsApp account.
Group Messaging
In another development related to WhatsApp, it has recently introduced a new update for its users that will help users stay safe in group messaging. A context card has been introduced that will provide users with all the information about the group.
Added to a group
If you are added to a group by someone you don't know, the context card feature will give you all the information about that group. The details will include who added you, when the group was most recently created, and who created the group.
Review safety tools
It's up to the user to decide if they want to stay in the group or leave and review some of the safety tools available to stay safe on WhatsApp.
Helps you decide
This is especially helpful in confirming whether or not this is a group you want to join or if you've met someone and haven't saved them to your contacts yet.
