Tech Tips: How to save driving license and RC in Smartphone, just follow these steps..

We have many important documents which we have to keep with us every day. In this list, your Aadhar card, PAN card, and if you drive then a driver's license and RC are also necessary. But it is a bit difficult to carry the physical card everywhere every time. In such a situation, you have an option, with the help of which you can keep your RC and driving license safe on your smartphone.

Instead of carrying your driving license physically everywhere, you can keep it on your smartphone or download a soft copy of it. The government has given you the option to save your driving license on your phone or get a soft copy of it through DigiLocker or the mParivahan app.

You can keep your documents on your phone

     In 2018, the government passed an advisory for states to accept driving licenses and vehicle registrations stored in DigiLocker and mParivahan apps.

     This eliminates the need to carry physical versions of any documents while driving.

How to save a driving license on a phone?

Here we will tell you how to keep the driving license and RC in your smartphone or download its soft copy. Let us tell you that to do this you must have an account on DigiLocker. You can sign up on DigiLocker using your phone number and Aadhaar card.

     First, go to your DigiLocker site and sign in with your username and six-digit PIN.

     You will then receive a one-time password on your registered phone, enter which to sign in.

     Once signed in, click on the 'Get issued Document' button.

     Now, look for the words ‘Driving License’ in the search bar.

     Select the state government from where you got your driving license or you can select the All States option.

     Enter your driving license number and press the Get Issued Document button. Click the checkbox to give your consent to DigLocker to share your data with the issuer before proceeding.

     DigiLocker will now receive your driving license from the transport department.

     Now you can see your driving license by going to the document list.

     Apart from this, the driving license can be downloaded in soft copy by clicking on the PDF button.

     You can also achieve this on your smartphone by downloading the DigiLocker app.

Download RC online?

     Sign in to your DigiLocker account with your Aadhaar card/mobile number and security PIN.

     Now go to the Get issued Documents tab on the main page and then scroll down to the 'Get more issued documents' option.

     Here select the 'Ministry of Roads and Transport' option and click on the 'Registration of Vehicles' tab.

     After this, fill in the registration number and chassis number of your vehicle and submit.

     After submission, click on the 'Get Document' option.

     After this come back to Get issued Documents and download your RC in PDF format.
