More than 1.28 lakh teachers—along with their dependent families—working in universities, government-aided colleges, self-financed courses, and self-financed colleges under the Higher Education Department have been brought under the 'Chief Minister's Teachers' Cashless Medical Facility Scheme '. Under this scheme, each eligible family will receive health coverage of up to ₹5 lakh annually. Expenses related to hospitalization, treatment, medicines, and discharge at empanelled government and private hospitals will be covered by the scheme. It includes over 1,900 treatment packages, covering serious ailments such as cancer, heart disease, and kidney disorders.
**Health security for PRD personnel and their families**
Chief Minister Yogi has also recently extended the facility of free cashless medical treatment—up to ₹5 lakh annually—to over 31,000 volunteers of the Prantiya Rakshak Dal (PRD) and their families. This benefit can be availed at government hospitals and those empanelled by the government. Based on average family size, more than 1.55 lakh people are expected to benefit from this initiative.

Cooks who prepare meals for children under the PM Poshan Yojana in council schools have also been granted the benefit of cashless medical facilities. The Chief Minister announced a monthly honorarium hike of ₹1,000 for them, alongside cashless medical coverage of up to ₹5 lakh for their families. This move will reduce the anxiety of having to borrow money for medical treatment during illness. Cooks from various districts have hailed this as a major relief, noting its contribution to the financial and social security of their families.
Major Health Coverage for Anganwadi Workers and Helpers
Anganwadi workers and helpers have also been brought under the ambit of this health security scheme. Along with announcing an increase in the honorarium—raising it from ₹8,000 to ₹12,000 for workers and from ₹4,000 to ₹6,000 for helpers—the Chief Minister declared that these workers, helpers, and their families would receive cashless medical facilities worth up to ₹5 lakh annually. The workers have hailed this move as a mark of respect for their hard work and responsibilities, as well as a source of great relief for their families.
