If we talk about recent years, the Indian government has started various types of schemes for the weak and economically weak people of the country, one such scheme is the Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana, an initiative started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi after attending the Pran Pratishtha program at Ram Mandir on January 22, 2024. The aim of this scheme is to install solar panels on the roofs of eligible houses, which will help them save a lot on electricity bills. If you want to apply for this scheme, then know its process

Understanding your eligibility

• You must belong to the poor or middle class.
• Your annual income should be less than one to one and a half lakh rupees.
• You should not have a government job.
• You should not be a taxpayer.

Application Process

Visit the official portal of the scheme solarrooftop.gov.in.

• Click on the "Apply" button and select your state from the dropdown menu.
• Enter your details
• Select your district and enter your domestic electricity bill number.
• Fill in your electricity bill details and provide other required information as prompted.
• Provide roof and solar panel details
• You will need to fill in the dimensions of your roof, including the length and width, providing complete details about your roof.
• Choose the type of solar panel you want to install and complete the application process.
• Receive subsidy
• Once your application is processed and approved, the subsidy amount provided under the scheme will be transferred directly to your bank account.
