PM SVANidhi Yojana: The Central Government's PM SVANidhi scheme is a highly effective micro-credit initiative aimed at financially empowering street vendors—including those with roadside stalls, pushcarts, and small-scale sellers—and helping them expand their businesses.

Under this scheme, beneficiaries are provided with low-interest loans that require no collateral (assets or guarantees) to start or resume their businesses.

**Loan Amount Increases Upon Repayment**
The scheme operates in three tranches. If you repay your previous loan on time or ahead of schedule, your loan limit is increased.

**First Tranche:** An initial loan of ₹10,000 is provided to start a business or for working capital. **Second Tranche:** A second loan of ₹20,000 is available after the timely repayment of the first loan. **Third Tranche:** A larger loan of up to ₹50,000 can be obtained from the bank following the successful repayment of the second loan.

**Key Benefits and Features of the Scheme**
**Collateral-free Loan:** No assets, land, gold, or guarantors are required to secure the loan. **7% Interest Subsidy:** If you pay your monthly installments on time, the government transfers an interest subsidy at an annual rate of 7% directly to your bank account. **Digital Cashback:** Accepting digital payments from customers via QR codes or UPI entitles you to an additional cashback of up to ₹1,200 per year (i.e., ₹100 per month). **No Prepayment Penalty:** Banks do not charge any extra fees or penalties for repaying the loan before the scheduled time.

**Who Can Apply?**
To avail the benefits of the PM SVANidhi scheme, one must be a street vendor—such as a roadside shopkeeper, fruit and vegetable seller, tea cart operator, or hawker—operating in urban or semi-urban areas. Additionally, to apply for the loan, the applicant must possess a Vending Certificate or an Identity Card issued by the local municipal body (Urban Local Body/ULB). Documents Required for the Loan
Voter ID card or other government-issued identity proof; a bank passbook linked with Aadhaar; and a vending certificate or Letter of Recommendation issued by the local body (ULB).
