The Telangana government has delivered a 'double gift' to the employees of Singareni Collieries for the occasion of Dussehra. The financial benefits will take effect from September 25, 2026, and will be reflected in the October salary. Here is what the Deputy Chief Minister had to say.

On the special occasion of Dussehra, the Telangana government has provided a major gift to the officers and employees of Singareni Collieries. State Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced that the pay scales for approximately 1,800 executive officers—ranging from grades E-1 to E-7—have been revised to match those of 'Coal India'.

These enhanced financial benefits will be effective from September 25 of this year and will be included in the salary for the month of October. Prior to this, the government had also announced a substantial bonus of ₹596 crore for approximately 39,000 permanent employees, as well as a festive support payment of ₹5,500 for contract workers.

A Dussehra Gift for Singareni Officers – Deputy Chief Minister

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "A Dussehra gift for our hardworking Singareni officers. Fulfilling a long-pending promise, orders have been issued to revise the pay scales of approximately 1,800 executive officers (grades E-1 to E-7) to bring them on par with Coal India. The financial benefits will take effect from September 25 and will be reflected starting with the October salary. Following the recently announced ₹596 crore bonus for 39,000 employees and the ₹5,500 festive support for contract workers, this decision reaffirms our government's unwavering commitment to the entire Singareni family." "Let us work together with renewed energy to accelerate the development of Telangana and meet the state's energy requirements."

Notably, the government has decided—just as it did last year—to distribute 34 percent of Singareni’s total profit among its workers and employees.

Joint ownership by the State and the Centre

Singareni Collieries is a government-owned coal mining company. It is jointly owned by the Government of Telangana and the Central Government, with the Government of Telangana holding a 51 percent stake and the Central Government holding a 49 percent stake.
