Starting this month, you'll be able to withdraw your PF funds from ATMs. Learn the latest updates.

PF Withdrawal From ATM: A new update is coming regarding PF account withdrawals. Employees will be able to withdraw money directly from ATMs. When will this rule come into effect? Learn about the update.

PF Withdrawal From ATM: Almost everyone in the country has a PF account. A PF account functions like a savings account, earning interest on the amount deposited. Typically, 12% of the salary is deposited into the PF account, and the company contributes an equal amount. If needed, money can be withdrawn from this account.

However, this process can be time-consuming due to the length process. Now, a major update has been released by the Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). With this new facility, PF account holders will be able to withdraw their PF funds directly from ATMs. Learn about the update.

When will ATM withdrawals be available?

Currently, people file online claims to withdraw funds from their PF accounts. Once the claim is settled, the funds are credited to their accounts, which can take a few days. However, now PF account holders will be able to withdraw funds from ATMs like normal withdrawals. According to media reports, the ATM withdrawal facility may begin in January 2026. This step will be part of EPFO 3.0.

While full confirmation is still pending, the proposal is expected to be discussed at the next meeting of the Central Board of Trustees. Once approved, employees will be able to access this facility. Currently, the current PF withdrawal process takes four to five days. However, with the new system, funds will be available immediately.

What will be the process?

Many questions arise regarding this. First, will withdrawals be possible using regular bank ATM cards? There are reports that the EPFO may issue a special card to its members, which will be directly linked to their PF accounts. To withdraw funds, you must first file an online claim.

Once the claim is approved, members will be able to withdraw funds from any ATM using this card. This new initiative will benefit over 78 million subscribers. This facility will be especially useful for employees in emergency situations, as they will not face a shortage of funds.
