SSC Recruitment 2026: For young aspirants preparing for government jobs, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notification for the Combined Hindi Translator Examination 2026. This recruitment drive aims to fill positions related to Hindi Translators within various ministries and departments of the Central Government. A key highlight is that a total of 84 tentative vacancies are to be filled this time. Consequently, this is considered an excellent opportunity for candidates who possess a strong command over both the Hindi and English languages. According to the Commission, the application process for this examination commenced on April 3, 2026; interested candidates may apply online until May 14, 2026. Meanwhile, the deadline for the submission of the application fee has been set for May 15. Should any errors remain in the application form, candidates will be provided an opportunity to make corrections on May 19 and 20. The examination is scheduled to be conducted during August and September 2026.

Under this recruitment drive, appointments will be made to positions such as Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translation Officer, Junior Translator, and Senior Hindi Translator. These vacancies will be filled within the Central Secretariat, Armed Forces Headquarters, and other ministries and departments.

Who Can Apply for These Posts?

Candidates applying for these positions must hold a postgraduate degree in Hindi and English from a recognized university. Additionally, the other language must have been studied as a subject at the degree level. Furthermore, candidates are required to possess a diploma or certificate in translation (Hindi to English and English to Hindi), or alternatively, have a minimum of two years of experience in the relevant field.

Age Limit and Application Fee for Recruitment

For this recruitment drive, the prescribed age limit for candidates is set between 18 and 30 years. Age will be calculated based on August 1, 2026. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted relaxation in the upper age limit in accordance with government regulations. The application fee has been fixed at ₹100. However, women, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST), persons with disabilities, and ex-servicemen are exempted from paying the fee. The fee payment must be made via the online mode.
