SSC Exam Dates Released: Check Schedules for JE, CHSL, and More
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the tentative schedule for the Junior Engineer, Sub-Inspector (Delhi Police and CAPF), and Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) examinations.
The SSC has issued an update regarding the dates for three major examinations scheduled for late 2026. The Commission has announced the tentative schedule for the Junior Engineer exam, the Sub-Inspector exam (for Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces), and the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) exam. All three examinations will be conducted during November and December 2026.
According to the notice issued by the SSC, all examinations will be conducted in computer-based mode. The Commission has also clarified that these dates are currently tentative. Candidates are advised to keep a close watch on the official SSC website for the final examination dates.
SSC JE Paper-1 Exam in November
The Paper-1 examination for the SSC Junior Engineer (JE) 2026 will be held first. The exam period has been scheduled from November 2 to November 6. The JE Paper-1 will be a computer-based test, and candidates will be informed about their specific exam date, shift, and center by the SSC. Candidates appearing for the exam are advised to regularly check notices issued by the Commission.
Delhi Police SI and CAPF Exam from November 20
Following the JE exam, the examination for Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) 2026 will be conducted. According to the SSC's tentative schedule, this exam will take place between November 20 and November 28, 2026. This exam will also be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.
CHSL Tier-1 Exam from November
The date for the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Examination 2026 Tier-1 has also been announced in the new SSC schedule. The CHSL Tier-1 exam is proposed to be held from November 30 to December 31. The CHSL exam will also be a computer-based test.
Recruitment for 1,748 Posts in SSC JE
The recruitment process for 1,748 tentative posts under SSC JE 2026 is currently underway. These include positions for Junior Engineers as well as Scientific Assistants. The recruitment drive involves examinations for posts in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Telecommunication engineering disciplines. The JE Paper 1 will consist of 200 questions carrying a total of 200 marks. Questions will be asked from sections including General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Engineering. Candidates will be allotted 2 hours for the exam, and a negative marking of 0.25 marks will apply for incorrect answers.
Possible Changes to Dates
The SSC has clarified that the announced dates are tentative. The conducting body reserves the right to modify them as necessary. Therefore, candidates are advised to keep checking for the final exam schedule once it is officially released.
