SSC CGL Last Date: There is important news for students preparing for SSC CGL. Those who have not yet filled out the SSC CGL form have one final chance. Today, June 25, 2026, is the deadline for submission. The Staff Selection Commission had reopened the application process, and candidates who missed the earlier window must submit their forms today, as no further opportunity will be provided.

It is worth noting that the SSC CGL 2026 application window was originally open from May 21 to June 22. During that period, over 28 lakh candidates submitted their applications. However, some candidates reported being unable to apply due to technical issues and other reasons; in response to these grievances, the Commission granted an additional opportunity to apply. This window closes tonight, so those who haven't applied yet should not delay.

Which posts are being filled, and what are the eligibility criteria?

Through this recruitment drive, the SSC has announced a total of 12,256 vacancies across 40 different Group B and Group C posts. These include popular roles such as Assistant Section Officer, Assistant Audit Officer, Income Tax Inspector, Examiner, Assistant Enforcement Officer, Auditor, Accountant, Tax Assistant, and Junior Statistical Officer. To apply, candidates must be between 18 and 32 years of age, with the age calculation based on August 1, 2026. Additionally, candidates belonging to reserved categories are granted age relaxation in accordance with government regulations. To appear for this exam, candidates must hold a graduation degree from a recognized university; however, specific qualifications—such as graduation with Mathematics or Statistics—are required for certain posts.

How to fill out the SSC CGL 2026 form?

To fill out the form, candidates must first visit the official SSC website (ssc.gov.in) and click on the 'Login' or 'Register' option. New candidates must first register by providing their personal details, whereas previously registered candidates can log in using their registration number and password. Subsequently, details such as address, category, educational qualifications, and exam center preferences must be entered into the form. Regarding the application fee, General and OBC candidates are required to pay ₹100, while women, SC, ST, PwD, and Ex-servicemen candidates are exempt from the fee. Uploading scanned copies of a photograph and signature is mandatory during the application process; therefore, it is advisable to keep these documents ready in advance.

When will the exam take place, and why is timely application important?

Candidates who successfully submit their forms will be eligible to appear for the Tier 1 examination. The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam is scheduled for August-September 2026, while the Tier 2 exam will be held in December 2026. The exam will be conducted entirely online and will consist of 100 questions. Selected candidates will be appointed to various ministries, departments, and government offices; therefore, candidates who have not yet filled out the form are advised to do so promptly to avoid potential issues like heavy website traffic, which could cause them to miss this golden opportunity.
