SSC CGL Exam: There will be no irregularities in the exam now, SSC Chairman assures students

SSC Exam: SSC Chairman S. Gopalakrishnan has assured the candidates that all technical and operational problems are being resolved regarding the irregularities in the examination. He said that the Stenographer Recruitment Examination held from 6 to 8 August was completed without any disturbance. There will be no disturbances in future as well. At the same time, a fine will be imposed in case of disturbances.
SSC CGL Exam: Amidst allegations of technical disturbances and irregularities in the recently held recruitment exams, Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Chairman S. Gopalakrishnan has assured the candidates that all technical and operational problems are being resolved. He said that the new examination system of the Commission has been designed for transparency and fairness. The Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination to be held in mid-September will be conducted smoothly.
SSC CGL Exam: Glitch in selection exam
Candidates made several complaints in the Selection Posts/Phase 12 exam held between 24 July and 2 August 2025.
Problems like frequent server down and getting far-flung exam centers were faced.
About 5.5 lakh candidates appeared for this exam.
The exam had to be canceled at two centers on July 24, later it was rescheduled.
The exam will be held in three additional shifts on August 29 for about 59,000 affected candidates.
SSC CGL Exam: Stenographer exam completed without hindrance
Gopalakrishnan also drew attention to the fact that the Stenographer Recruitment Exam held from 6 to 8 August was completed without any glitch. He said that this indicates that the corrective steps are showing effect.
SSC CGL Exam: Problem regarding examination center
Students are also very worried about the center. He says that sometimes centers are available in cities and sometimes centers are available hundreds of kilometers away. On this, Gopalakrishnan said that when TCS was responsible for the examination, students did not have any problem related to the center. But then the new agency Eduquity got this responsibility when some problem was seen. However, now the situation has improved. In the recently held stenographer exam, 80% of the candidates got the center in their preferred city.
SSC CGL Exam: Role of coaching institutes
The chairman said that some coaching institutes are joining the protests to save their business interests. The commission has implemented the e-dossier system so that the documents of the candidates are handled digitally and securely. The change in the pattern of question papers has also reduced the dependence on traditional coaching material.
SSC CGL Exam: New examination system and initial problems
After the order of the Supreme Court, the multi-agency model was implemented from July 2025. Now, preparing questions, conducting the exam, IT security and monitoring are the responsibilities of different agencies. Initially, due to glitches in the digital system, there was duplication of questions and answers, but now these have been fixed. The results are being balanced through Question challenge system and Equi-percentile normalisation.
SSC CGL Exam: Strict arrangements on cyber security
SSC has engaged CDAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing) so that security can be strengthened to prevent hacking. Gopalakrishnan said that many threats come from the collusion of outsiders associated with private examination centres. The chairman said that the examination agencies and content providers are working under a strict agreement. They will be fined in case of any glitch. He expressed confidence that the CGL exam to be held from September will be conducted absolutely smoothly.
