Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the Rajasthan government is continuously working to strengthen livestock conservation. To this end, the Chief Minister Mangala Pashu Bima Yojana has been implemented under the guidance of Animal Husbandry Minister Zoraram Kumawat. The government aims to provide free insurance for a total of 2.1 million animals by 2025-26, providing livestock farmers with financial security in the event of unexpected losses.

This campaign began on December 1st. Special camps are being set up in every village across the state, where livestock farmers can easily obtain free insurance for their animals. Information regarding the scheme is being provided at the camps, and on-the-spot registration is also being offered. The government is striving to ensure that as many livestock farmers as possible benefit from the scheme in the first phase. This campaign by the Rajasthan government has brought significant relief to livestock farmers. The Chief Minister Mangala Pashu Bima Yojana not only ensures the safety of livestock but also promotes animal husbandry in the state.

Benefits of the Scheme
The insurance under this scheme is completely free, meaning the livestock owner will not have to pay any premium.
If the animal dies due to an accident or illness, the entire insurance amount will be reimbursed to the livestock owner.
This scheme provides financial security to poor and middle-class livestock owners.
Domestic livestock such as cows, buffaloes, sheep, goats, and camels are covered under this scheme.

Scheme Goal
The state government announced this scheme in the 2024-25 budget. The target is to provide free insurance to 500,000 cows, 500,000 buffaloes, 500,000 sheep, 500,000 goats, and 100,000 camels. The government will spend approximately ₹400 crore on this scheme. A maximum of 2 milch cows or 2 buffaloes, 10 goats, 10 sheep, and 10 camels can be insured per Janadhaar card. To ensure that benefits reach all livestock owners, different targets have been set for each district. For example, in a district, approximately 12,000 cows, 14,200 buffaloes, 16,000 sheep, 11,000 goats, and 400 camels will be covered under this insurance scheme.
