The journey takes place between May and September and each journey is about 21-25 days long.

There are three routes for Indians to travel to Kailash Mansarovar. The shortest route is from Lipulekh in Uttarakhand. The distance from here to Kailash Mansarovar is 65 km. This journey takes 24 days. The travellers also undergo three days of training in Delhi. The cost of the entire journey comes up to Rs 1.80 lakh.
