With the completion of the third line and doubling the work, the line capacity of the railway will increase. With this, more trains will be able to run at a faster speed. The operation of passenger trains will be more smooth than before and trains will run on time.

Railway passengers have got a big shock before the festival season begins. Northeast Railway (NER) has decided to cancel 63 pairs of trains from 19 to 30 September 2025. Apart from this, the routes of 26 trains have been changed. This decision has been taken for the work of the third rail line between Gorakhpur Junction-Domingarh and doubling between Gorakhpur-Nakha Jungle. Railways says that this work is necessary to improve rail services, but due to this the passengers will have to face a lot of trouble. Especially just before big festivals like Dussehra, Diwali and Chhath, problems are bound to happen.

Why is this work being done?

Northeast Railway is carrying out the work of third line from Gorakhpur Junction to Domingarh (4 km) and doubling from Gorakhpur to Nakha Jungle (5 km). For this, a block will be taken on the railway track for pre-interlock work on September 22 and non-interlock work from September 23 to 26. During this time the operation of trains will be affected. The Railway Safety Commissioner will inspect this work on September 26. Railways says that with the completion of this work, the delay of trains will be reduced and more special trains can be run during festivals.

What will be the benefits?

With the completion of the third line and doubling work, the line capacity of the railway will increase. This will enable more trains to run at a faster speed. The operation of passenger trains will be more smooth than before and trains will run on time. Also, the operation of goods trains will also be faster, which will improve freight transportation.
