As soon as September begins, the celebration of the colorful festival Onam will begin in Kerala. This year Onam will be celebrated on 4th and 5th September. It is called the festival of harvest and is celebrated in the memory of Lord Mahabali. Pookalam (flower decoration), Vallamkali (boat race) and the traditional feast "Onasadya" are organized in the houses. These days there is a holiday in schools in Kerala and the surrounding states. Eid-e-Milad

Navaratri

From this day onwards, Kalash Sthapana and worship of the Goddess starts in the houses. In many states, schools are closed on this day so that families can participate in religious rituals. Special preparations are made on this occasion, especially in the states of North India.
Durga Puja
The country's most grand festival Durga Puja will be celebrated in the last week of September. Mahasaptami will be celebrated on 29 September and Mahashtami on 30 September. Schools will remain closed on these days in states like West Bengal, Assam, Odisha and Tripura. Durga Puja is not just a religious event but also a cultural festival. The beautiful decoration of the pandals, the sound of Dhak and traditional dance-song make this festival special. This time is very memorable for children because they get an opportunity to enjoy the festival with family and friends with a long holiday.
