Scam Alert: Have you also received an email to download PAN card? Then be careful..

The Income Tax Department has issued a big alert regarding a new online fraud going on in the name of 'PAN 2.0' card. The government has clearly said that no such new PAN card has been launched and such emails are completely fake.
People are getting fake emails.
People are being sent an email which comes in the name of “PAN 2.0 Cards” and is being sent from email addresses like info@smt.plusoasis.com. In this mail, it is being claimed that the Income Tax Department has launched a new PAN card with QR code, and users are being asked to download "e-PAN" for free by clicking on a link.

The PIB Fact Check Unit has described these emails as "fake" and warned the general public not to click on any such mail, open any link or attachment, or give any reply.
The Income Tax Department has also clarified that it never asks users for sensitive information like password, bank account, or credit card through email. Also, the department does not send any kind of download link.
If anyone receives such a suspicious email, immediately report it to webmanager@incometax.gov.in or incident@cert-in.org.in.
