Satellite Internet: After Starlink, another American company is in line, wants to start satellite internet in India, connection with Apple..

Apple Globalstar: Many companies are looking at India's satellite internet market as an opportunity. After Elon Musk's Starlink, now Apple's satellite communications partner Globalstar has also expressed its desire to launch its services in India. The company has applied for regulatory approvals. If the government approves, Elon Musk will not be the only one whose Starlink satellite internet will come to India. Globalstar can also jump into this field. Apart from these two companies, companies like OneWeb, Project Kuiper and Orbit Connect have also sought approval to launch satellite internet in India.
The company sent an application to the government.
According to ET Telecom's report, like other satellite internet companies, Globalstar's internet terminals revolve in low-earth orbit. Globalstar has sent an application to the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Center so that it can start its operations. Very soon the company can also apply for a GMPCS license from the Department of Telecommunications, which is a step to launch satellite internet. Only after getting approval from both sides, the way will be clear for the company to start satellite internet in India.
The company has already acquired test spectrum.
The report states that Globalstar has already acquired a test spectrum from the Department of Telecommunications to demonstrate satellite-based disaster management use. In simple language, the company is using satellite internet in such works which are related to disasters. Now it needs a commercial license. Only after getting the commercial license, common people will be able to connect to satellite internet services.
Apple and Globalstar are working together.
Currently, Apple and Globalstar are working together. Globalstar is providing direct-to-sale satellite internet services to iPhone users. That is, satellite calls are being used for emergency services. Apple partnered with Globalstar in the year 2022. Apart from the US, this support from Apple is currently being provided to Apple users in Canada, the UK, Australia and some other countries. India is not included in this.
