Rules Change from May 1st: The month of May begins today. During this period, several significant changes are set to take place that will have a substantial impact on the lives of common citizens.

Rules Change from May 1: Starting May 1st, several important changes are set to be implemented across the country. These changes will have a direct impact on your household kitchen, travel, and mobile gaming activities.

LPG Cylinders

As is the practice every month, oil companies are expected to announce new prices for domestic and commercial gas cylinders on May 1st. Prices will be determined based on the prevailing trends in crude oil rates within the international market. Additionally, preparations are underway to introduce changes to the delivery system; an OTP-based delivery confirmation mechanism and eKYC verification may be permanently implemented.

ATF (Aviation Turbine Fuel)

New rates for Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) are also likely to be announced on May 1st. Crude oil prices have been experiencing volatility over the past few months due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East. If ATF prices rise, airlines may once again increase airfares.

Petrol and Diesel

Currently, there are no indications of major changes in petrol and diesel prices; however, given the fluctuations in the global market, these rates will continue to be monitored closely. The government reserves the right to revise prices at any time.

New Regulations on Online Gaming

Under the Online Gaming Rules 2026, the government will establish the Online Gaming Authority of India (OGAI). Games will now be categorized into three distinct groups: Real Money Games, Social Games, and Esports.

Registration will be made mandatory for games that involve real money stakes. To ensure the safety and protection of children, measures such as time limits, age verification, and parental controls will also be made mandatory.

NOTE: The new prices for LPG and ATF will be officially confirmed only after the formal announcement is made on the morning of May 1st.
