Rule Change: From changes in LPG gas cylinder prices to Google Maps charges, these rules will change from August 1
Every month there are changes in some financial rules and regulations. Many rules will be changed in August and these will have a direct impact on the common citizens. Next month, the country's largest private sector lender HDFC Bank will change its credit card rules, and Google will also change Google Maps charges in India. These new laws will come into effect from August 1, 2024. Below are the things that are going to change next month.
LPG Gas Cylinder Price
LPG gas cylinder rates are fixed on the first of every month. The government reduced the price of a 19 kg commercial cylinder last month. It is estimated that the government will reduce the price of the cylinder this time too.
Google Maps will reduce charges by up to 70%
Google Maps has made significant changes to its rules in India, which will be applicable across the country from August 1, 2024. The company has reduced the charges for its services in India by up to 70%. Also, Google Maps will now charge for its services in Indian Rupees instead of dollars. However, this change will not affect regular users as no additional charges have been levied on them.
HDFC Bank Credit Card Rules Changes – Transaction Charges
Customers using CRED, Cheq, MobiKwik, Freecharge and other similar services to pay fares will be charged 1% of the transaction amount, which will be limited to Rs 3,000 per transaction. Fuel transactions will not attract any additional charges for transactions below Rs 15,000. However, transactions above Rs 15,000 will attract 1% of the total amount, which will be limited to Rs 3,000 per transaction.
Utility Transactions
There will be no additional charges for transactions below Rs 50,000. Transactions above Rs 50,000 will attract a 1% fee on the entire amount, limited to Rs 3,000 per transaction. It is important to note that insurance transactions are exempt from this fee. Payments made directly through the college or school website or their POS device will be fee-free. However, transactions made using third-party apps such as CRED, Cheq, MobiKwik and others will attract a 1% fee, limited to Rs 3,000 per transaction.
The delayed payment charge system has been revised from Rs 100 to Rs 1,300 depending on the outstanding amount. Using the Easy-EMI option at any online or offline store will attract an EMI processing fee of up to Rs 299. HDFC Bank said that all the charges mentioned above are subject to GST as per government regulations. Further, HDFC Bank will implement the adjustment in its Tata New Infinity and Tata New Plus credit cards from August 1, 2024. From August 1, 2024, users of Tata New Infinity HDFC Bank credit card will get 1.5% NewCoins on eligible UPI transactions done using the Tata New UPI ID.
