RRB NTPC UG CBT 2 Date Announced; Exam to be Held on This Day

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the date for the second stage Computer-Based Test (CBT 2) for the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) Undergraduate recruitment. The RRB NTPC UG CBT 2 exam is scheduled for September 17, 2026. This exam is for candidates who were shortlisted for the next stage following the CBT 1 results. Candidates can view exam-related information and the schedule by visiting the official website of their respective regional RRB.
CBT 2 Exam on September 17
The RRB NTPC UG CBT 2 exam will be conducted as a computer-based test on September 17. Candidates will be allotted a total of 90 minutes for the exam. The question paper will consist of 120 multiple-choice questions covering three subjects: 50 questions on General Awareness, and 35 questions each on Mathematics and General Intelligence & Reasoning. Thus, there will be a total of 120 questions worth 120 marks. Negative marking of one-third of a mark will apply for incorrect answers.
When Will the City Slip and Admit Card Be Released?
The exam city intimation slip and SC/ST travel pass for candidates appearing in CBT 2 will be available starting September 7. The admit card for the exam will be available for download on September 13, 2026. Additionally, the typing skill test for those who qualify in CBT 2 is scheduled for December 4, 2026.
45,898 Candidates Shortlisted for CBT 2
A large number of candidates had applied for the RRB NTPC UG recruitment. A total of 6,327,474 candidates registered for the undergraduate-level posts. Out of these, 45,898 candidates were shortlisted for CBT-2. This figure is approximately 15 times the total number of vacancies. There are 3,058 posts in this recruitment drive. The highest number of posts—2,424—are for Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerks. Additionally, the vacancies include 394 posts for Accounts Clerk-cum-Typist, 163 for Junior Clerk-cum-Typist, and 77 for Trains Clerk.
What score is required for CBT-2?
Minimum qualifying marks have been set for candidates across different categories in CBT-2. The requirement is 40% for Unreserved and EWS category candidates, 30% for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and SC candidates, and 25% for ST candidates. In cases where there are insufficient qualified candidates for vacancies reserved for PwBD candidates, a relaxation of up to two marks in the minimum qualifying score may be granted.
Recruitment to be completed in four stages
The selection process for the RRB NTPC Undergraduate recruitment will involve multiple stages. These include the first stage Computer-Based Test (CBT-1), the second stage Computer-Based Test (CBT-2), a Computer-Based Typing Skill Test for relevant posts, followed by document verification and a medical examination.
