A review petition has been filed in the apex court against the order of the Supreme Court rejecting the request to conduct the National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Undergraduate 2024 i.e. NEET UG exam afresh. The court had said in its August 2 order that there is currently no sufficient material on record to indicate any systemic leak or malpractice compromising the integrity of the examination.

'The committee will submit its report by September 30'
Let us tell you that the Supreme Court had expanded the scope of the committee appointed by the Center under the chairmanship of former Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) chief K. Radhakrishnan. The committee was given the responsibility to review the functioning of the National Examination Agency (NTA) which conducts NEET-UG and recommends examination reforms. The court had said that since the scope of the committee has been expanded, the committee will submit its report by September 30 on various measures to remove the deficiencies in the examination system.

The apex court had directed the NTA to ensure that all the concerns highlighted by the court in its decision are addressed and requested the seven-member committee to keep these issues in mind while making its recommendations.
