'Research should be promoted in the education system', said President Murmu while talking to the youth
The President today while talking to the youth asked them to achieve excellence. He also said that more focus should be given on research in the education system.
The President of the country Draupadi Murmu while talking to the youth at a deemed university said that research should be promoted in the education system. She further said that the researcher students of the country are capable of finding solutions to the problems faced not only by the country but also by the world. She said these things while addressing the 21st convocation of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) in Pune today.
NEP 2020 promotes research
While addressing the convocation, she further said that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 promotes research. Murmu urged the students to achieve excellence and said that success should not be linked to assets like money, big house or car. He said, "I am confident that the young generation is working hard for the development of the country. The people of the country have a lot of talent and skill."
The President said, "I want you to understand the needs of the society and find solutions that can help in the development of the general public, especially those who are marginalized, and this can promote stability."
Youth are capable of finding solutions
He said that through government schemes like Start-up India, Skill India, and Stand-up India, the young generation can achieve their goals. I would like to tell everyone here that research should be encouraged in the education system. India's researchers are capable of finding solutions to problems not only within the country but also in the world. Research has been promoted in the National Education Policy.
New inventions happen through research
The President urged the professors, faculty members, and alumni of Symbiosis University to promote research in the education system. The President said that years of research lead to new inventions and solutions to challenges. He noted that multi-disciplinary research centers are working at Symbiosis University in many areas including water resource management, stem cells, nano-science, and climate change.
Advised to achieve excellence
The President advised the students to try to achieve excellence in every task. He said, "You must have heard this saying that 'pursue excellence, success will follow you'. But many times it happens that some people consider having more money, a bigger house, a bigger car, and other things as a sign of success." Murmu expressed confidence that the students will understand the true meaning of success and do such work which will also improve the standard of living of others.
The President said that based on this knowledge of regions and communities, students should create software, healthcare products, and marketing strategies that help in the development of all, especially the development of the underprivileged sections, and also promote sustainability. Initiatives like Start-up India, Skill India, Make in India and Digital India will also help the students achieve their goals. The progress of women's power is not only a matter of pride for the citizens but it is also an important criterion for the development of the country.
