Before Diwali, the central government has given great news to the farmers. The government has given a big relief to the farmers regarding the export of boiled rice. The government has reduced the export tax on boiled rice to zero on October 22. That is, now there will be no tax on this rice. Earlier, a 10 percent tax was levied on the export of boiled rice.

This decision has come at a time when the stock has increased in the world's largest grain-exporting country. Also, there is a possibility of a bumper crop in the country after the monsoon. Last month, the tax was reduced from 20 percent to 10 percent. After this, it was made zero on Tuesday.

This decision came a day earlier.

According to the notification issued by the Finance Ministry late on Tuesday night, the export duty on parboiled rice, brown rice, and paddy has been reduced from 10 percent to zero. This exemption became effective on October 22. Sources told the news agency that the Election Commission has approved this duty cut, provided that no political advantage is taken from it.

Elections are due in Jharkhand and Maharashtra next month. Last month, the government had exempted non-Basmati white rice from export duty. Apart from this, the export duty on parboiled rice, brown rice, and paddy was also reduced from 20 percent to 10 percent. At the same time, the minimum export price of Basmati rice has also been abolished to promote exports and increase the income of farmers.
