Why is it important to raise objections to the answer key?
With the help of the provisional answer key, candidates can compare their answers and raise objections if they find any errors in any question. IIM has clearly stated that only objections submitted within the stipulated time will be considered. Therefore, candidates are advised to submit their objections on time.
In addition, IIM has also released the response sheets for all three slots – Slot 1, Slot 2, and Slot 3. This will allow candidates to know which answer they chose and whether it was correct or incorrect.
When will the CAT 2026 result be released?
The final answer key will be released only after all objections submitted to the interim (provisional) answer key have been examined. The CAT 2026 result is expected to be declared in the first week of January 2026. However, the official result date has not yet been released by IIM Kozhikode.
How is CAT scoring done?
In CAT, 3 marks are awarded for each correct answer, while 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer. There is no negative marking for non-MCQ questions. This score is used to obtain admission to MBA and PGDM programs at IIMs and other top business schools across the country. Candidates can consult the official website for more details.
