Ration Card: Your name will be removed from the ration card after September, now you will be able to get E-KYC done anywhere in the country
The Additional Commissioner of the Food and Civil Supplies Department has issued a letter to the District Supply Department regarding the nationwide initiative of 100 percent e-KYC verification for ration card holders.
With this arrangement, beneficiaries will be able to complete their e-KYC at any fair-price shop of their choice across the country, making it even more accessible. This arrangement is especially beneficial for migrant workers, who earlier had to travel long distances to their home districts to complete their e-KYC.
According to the District Supply Officer, the fair price shop owners will inform the beneficiaries that they can get their e-KYC done locally so that they will not need to return to their home state.
E-KYC will be done free of cost with the help of e-pass, which will include biometric authentication of the beneficiaries. Additionally, this option will provide the facility to link the mobile number to the ration card.
Ration card holders will be able to enter or update information using their mobile number. If there is any inaccuracy regarding any family member of the cardholder, it can also be corrected. The important thing is that only the head of the ration card can make such an amendment.
