Rajasthan: Farmers benefited due to a mistake of the bank, know what the matter
Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 17th installment of the Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. A case related to a government bank has come to light in Rajasthan, where farmers inadvertently benefited due to the mistake of the bank. Due to this mistake, about 70,000 farmers got two installments under the scheme. Two installments of Rs 2,000 each were deposited in the accounts of all these farmers in a single day, which created a wave of happiness among the beneficiaries.
Double payment due to bank mistake
Instead of removing the mistake, the bank tried to suppress the matter. Initially, even the state government was not aware of this mistake. When the government came to know about this, they sought a report from the bank. According to the scheme, the central government gives financial assistance of Rs 6,000 annually to the farmers, which is distributed in three installments of Rs 2,000 each. The central government transfers this amount to the concerned bank, which deposits this amount in the farmers' account.
Bank MD claimed ignorance
About 65 lakh farmers in the state take advantage of this scheme, out of which about 70,000 farmers have accounts in the cooperative bank. Due to this mistake, these farmers got a total amount of more than Rs 14 crore. Bank MD Dhansingh Dewal said that he was not aware of this incident. Cooperative Minister Gautam Kumar Dak said that after getting information about the case, he has sought a detailed report from the bank and sought an explanation from those responsible for this mistake.
