Railways will run so many thousand special trains for Diwali-Chhath, know the complete details from route to booking

Chhath Puja 2025: Railways has announced to run many special trains for Diwali and Chhath Puja. Passengers will get relief from these trains passing through different zones. Know how many trains will go from which route?
Every day crores of passengers travel by train in the country. And the number of these passengers is seen as very high during festivals. As soon as the festive season arrives, the crowd of passengers in trains increases manifold. On occasions like Chhath Puja, Diwali and Durga Puja, it becomes very difficult to get tickets from Bihar, Jharkhand, Bengal and South India to metro cities.
At such a time, every year the Railways makes special arrangements for the convenience of the passengers. This time also the same arrangement has been made by the Railways. The Railway Minister has announced to run more than 12000 special trains for Diwali-Chhath. So 150 Puja special trains will be run from 21 September to 30 November. Plan of zone wise special trains
Many special trains are run during the festive season, especially on Diwali and Chhath. This time, most of the trains will be run by South Central Railway. On the other hand, 14 trains have been fixed by East Central Railway on Bihar route. Which will make a total of 588 trips. These will cover big cities like Patna, Gaya, Darbhanga and Muzaffarpur. 24 trains will be run by Eastern Railway on Kolkata, Sealdah and Howrah routes. Which will make 198 trips.
24 trains will be run by Western Railway on Mumbai, Surat and Vadodara routes. This will benefit passengers living outside Gujarat and Maharashtra. So Southern Railway will run 10 special trains on South Indian routes like Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai which will make 66 trips.
Special arrangements will also be made from other zones
Apart from this, special services will also be provided from many other zones. Trains will run on Bhubaneswar, Puri and Sambalpur routes from East Coast Railway. Passengers will get relief on Ranchi and Tatanagar routes from South Eastern Railway, while passengers will get relief on Prayagraj and Kanpur routes from North Central Railway. Apart from this, special trains will also be run during festivals from major routes like Bilaspur, Raipur, Bhopal and Kota. Railways says that this is just the first phase. More special trains will be run in future. In view of Chhath, the Railway Minister has already given information about 12000 trains on the routes of Bihar and Eastern India.
