Train Ticket Booking: Many big festivals are coming in the next few months, which include festivals like Diwali and Chhath Puja. For these festivals, lakhs of people prepare to go to their homes and make all kinds of preparations. During this time, the biggest rush is for train tickets, because getting a confirmed ticket during the festival season is no less than a gift. Today, we are telling you the new rules of the railways and some tricks of ticket booking, with which you can get your ticket confirmed right now.
60-day rule
Railways has now implemented a 60-day rule in place of its 120-day rule. That is, you can book your ticket 60 days in advance. If you have to go to your home to celebrate Diwali on October 20, then you can reserve your ticket for this from August 20 onwards. If the starting point of your train falls on the next day, then the window will open for you 61 days in advance.
How to get a ticket?
The number of people going home during festivals is so high that the train gets full as soon as the ticket window opens. After this, people are not able to get tickets and have to face a lot of trouble. For this, you can reserve your ticket in advance by using some tricks.
First of all, you have to book the ticket keeping in mind the date of your journey.
If you want a ticket for October 22, then you have to book the ticket immediately when the window opens exactly two months in advance.
Be ready by logging in to the IRCTC website in the morning and pressing the button as soon as the booking starts.
While booking the ticket, the option of Alternate Trains will also be useful to you; it will also help you in getting tickets for other trains on that route.
You can keep a balance in the IRCTC wallet in advance, which will not delay the payment.
When are the big festivals coming?
Two big festivals are coming to the country in the month of October itself. The Diwali festival is coming on October 20, for which lakhs of people return to their homes. Apart from this, Chhath Puja is also starting a few days later, i.e., from 25 October. Lakhs of people from Bihar and UP come to their states by train for this festival. This is the reason why there is a huge crowd in trains during this time. During this time, special trains are also run by the railways, but if you book tickets in advance, then you will not face any problem.
