Railways: Railway pensioners will not have to visit banks for life certificate, this is an easy way...
A workshop was held at North Eastern Railway Headquarters on Monday to promote the nationwide Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 4.0, being implemented for the convenience of retired railway employees. This initiative will eliminate the need for pensioners to visit banks for life certificates. Pankaj Kumar Singh, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Eastern Railway, stated that banks, pensioner associations, and railway officials participated in the workshop.
The workshop was very fruitful.
Manoj Kumar stated that the DLC campaign is underway nationwide on the instructions of the Railway Board. North Eastern Railway has approximately 52,000 pensioners, of whom over 90% have already received their Digital Life Certificates. The headquarters area holds 800 pension accounts with Indian Bank and 7,000 with State Bank of India. He directed the banks to complete 100% DLC for the remaining pensioners promptly and to alert all pensioners through mobile messages.
He said that with accounts linked to Aadhaar, PAN, and mobile phones, banks can easily complete this task, eliminating the need for such workshops in the future. Chief Personnel Officer Manoj Kumar Pandey asked banks to prepare a Hindi video of the DLC process and distribute it specifically to Group D pensioners.
Railway Recruitment Cell Chairman Rajesh Kumar Gupta stated that Indian Railways is the second largest employer in the country and currently has approximately 1.5 million pensioners. Pension is not just money, but the self-respect of railway employees. DLC eliminates the need for pensioners to visit bank offices and automatically updates their certificates.
Last year, 3.75 lakh DLCs were deposited with the Railways. Deputy Chief Financial Advisor Yakub Shaikh stated that this campaign is being launched to make life easier for retired employees, with the Pensioners Association providing full support. Representatives from the State Bank of India and Indian Bank presented a PowerPoint presentation on the facilities provided to pensioners and the DLC process.
